The Change of Seasons

Heading South
There is a feel in the air. Nights are cooler, days are shorter and the trees are beginning to turn. Squirrels are very busy gathering acorns and building nests. And looking skyward, we see the geese leaving for warmer climes.
There are also changes in the quality of light. As the sun sets over the autumn marshes, they come alive with a rosy glow. These are the things that call me to paint, to try to capture the feeling of realizing that winter is on its way, and it's time to prepare the nest.
